Join us for Selection Sunday

I’m going to put out a somewhat controversial self-serving opinion out there for you as we start Sharp Week, our nod to one of the best weeks of the betting calendar.

Instead of watching the CBS Selection Sunday show at 6 p.m. ET, try VSiN instead.

For one, the information starts leaking out even before the start of the show, which is why we are starting our Selection Sunday programming two hours earlier.

Plus the lines for the matchups are out faster than the old days, so the betting is going to start before the last region has been announced.

Here is our special lineup for today:

>Bracket Breakdown(4-8 p.m. ET)Tim Murray and Jonathan Von Tobel (4-8 p.m. ET) will handle the hours leading up to the bracket reveal and react to the opening lines as they are posted.

>Betting The Bracket (8-11 p.m. ET): Matt Youmans and Greg “Hoops” Peterson will offer their early takes on every game. Mitch Moss and Paul Howard will stop by, too, as well as Grace Remington.

>Cashing Out (11 p.m.-2 a.m.): Joe Ceraulo will keep the bracket talk going, soliciting opinions from Gill Alexander and Mike Palm among many others.

That’s just the start of Sharp Week. Other highlights:

>Registration begins today for the VSiN March Bracket Challenge, 40 picks against the spread or on totals over the course of six NCAA Tournament rounds for a chance at $5,000 in prize money. It is free to enter. >Read the rules and sign up.

>The VSiN March Mania Betting Guide will be out Tuesday for VSiN Pro subscribers. We profile all 68 teams, offer strategies for betting the tournament along with experts’ filled-out brackets and give our Best Bets. Among my favorite features: Steve Makinen’s shared traits for identifying Cinderella and Championship teams.

Today in NASCAR

Steve Makinen has uploaded his final simulation for today’s NASCAR race (3:30 ET) in Las Vegas and shared his analysis:

With all the championship hoops going on, it might be easy to overlook Sunday’s today’s race held in VSiN’s backyard. However, Las Vegas Motor Speedway has been one of the more predictable tracks on the circuit lately with a handicap-ability of B. Typically, the strong thrive at LVMS, and as such, I’m not surprised to see William Byron, Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson pacing the final simulation. Pole sitter Ross Chastain checks in 4th, and Alex Bowman rounds out the top 5.

Here are my picks:

Top 5: Bell, Byron, Bowman, Larson, Busch

Top underdogs: Cindric, Beuscher,  Briscoe, Berry

Favorites to struggle: Hamlin, Blaney, Gibbs, Keselowski

>Adam Burke‘s race preview.
