🏀 NBA: OKC takes control
The Thunder took a 3-2 series lead in the West with a 127-114 win over the Spurs in Oklahoma City.

Market move, same result

The Spurs appeared to be getting hit by sharp bettors throughout the day Tuesday. San Antonio closed as a 3.5-point underdog after opening +5.5.

It wasn’t entirely clear what drove that move — possibly uncertainty around Jalen Williams, who ultimately missed the game. But the Thunder came ready.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 32 points and nine assists, Isaiah Hartenstein added 12 points and 15 rebounds, and Jared McCain and Alex Caruso combined for 42 points. Chet Holmgren has been struggling offensively throughout these playoffs, but the Thunder gladly will sign up for the 16 points and 11 boards he gave them.

This series is coming down to whether Oklahoma City makes threes. San Antonio is selling out to contain Gilgeous-Alexander, daring others to beat them. In Game 5, the Thunder shot 14-of-32 from deep and won the rebounding battle 48-41.

If that happens again, Oklahoma City likely will be heading to the Finals.

Looking ahead to Game 6, the Spurs are favored by 3.5 points. Keep an eye on Williams’ status — if he returns, that’s an All-NBA wing added to a team that has won three of the last four games.
