This was an ugly game to watch no matter what you bet, although Sean Green, Eagles fan and host of the Sports Gambling Podcast show on Friday nights (7-10 ET), seemed to be enjoying himself at Lambeau.
Philadelphia scratched out a 10-7 victory over the Packers in the NFL Week 10 closer that featured a 0-0 halftime score and end-of-game coaching malpractice.
The line closed as a pick’em at Circa, but it was Philly +1.5 at DraftKings. Ultimate arbiter Dave Tuley is counting it as a consensus pick’em, so the final stats on Week 10: Favorites were 8-5 SU with the one pick’em, but just 6-6-1 ATS. Overs split 7-7 with MNF going way Under (45). >>Season stats.
Dare I mention that the loss drops the Packers (5-3-1) out of first place in the NFC North with the Lions AND Bears (6-3) now atop the division.
Everything we do on NFL Week 11 will be posted here. The big NFL news, of course, was the firing of Brian Daboll after the Giants’ meltdown vs. the Bears. Here is a list of potential replacements.
Department of accountability: VSiN.com managing editor Adam Burke checks in at the halfway point of the NFL season to see how our hosts’ picks in the inaugural Futures Draft are doing. And Steve Makinen tallies the records for his three sets of NFL power ratings so far this season. Alas, we need to add an L to Steve’s numbers after the Packers’ fall on MNF.
MACtion, Week 2
The MAC is back for mid-week action tonight:
Kent State (+5.5 at Circa) at Akron (7:30 ET, ESPNU)
Ohio (PK) at Western Michigan (8 ET, ESPN2)
Adam Burke has plays for both games, but I learned something else from his preview:
This is Akron’s bowl game, as the Zips sit 4-6, but are ineligible for postseason play due to their Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores.
The NCAA still tracks grades?
Everything we post on CFB Week 12 will be here.
