NBA upsets: Kevin Durant returned for Game 2, but the underdog Lakers (+5.5) still beat the Rockets 101-94 to take a 2-0 series lead. Victor Wembanyama sustained a concussion in the Spurs’ 106-103 loss to Portland (+11.5). Plus the 76ers (+13.5) upset the Celtics 111-97.

🏈 NFL Draft:
Matt Youmans, VSiN’s resident mock draft aficionado, has posted Version 1 of his mock draft.
Matt’s caveat: “A mock is meant to predict what the teams will do and not what I would do.”
Fair enough.
The linchpins to a successful mock draft this year are Alabama QB Ty Simpson and Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love, according to Matt.

I stopped by the VSiN studio last night and Matt was already working on Version 2.0.
Matt’s update: “Based on info that surfaced Tuesday, I did make five or six more bets and would change my mock No. 2 pick to project the Jets picking David Bailey, the Texas Tech defensive end. One of the bets I added is Bailey -150 to be the second pick.”
👉 Matt’s updated plays (VSiN Pro) →
Adam Burke offers his draft plays, including one on how many wide receivers will be taken in the first round.

Draft night programming alert: Matt Brown hosts Countdown to the Draft (7–8 p.m. ET), followed by Youmans and Tim Murray with four hours of live coverage on VSiN PrimeTime.

🧠 Zach Cohen’s NBA Report
Wembanyama Suffers Concussion
In the second quarter of San Antonio’s Game 2 loss to Portland, Victor Wembanyama took a nasty spill while driving to the rim. His face hit the floor hard, and he appeared to be out for a couple of seconds. He was taken to the locker room, placed in the NBA’s concussion protocol and ruled out.
Wembanyama now must go a full 48 hours before being cleared for full participation, along with approval from team and league doctors. That puts his status for Friday’s pivotal Game 3 in Portland in serious doubt.
The market didn’t wait. After being favored by as many as 12.5 in Game 2, DraftKings has San Antonio at just -1.5 in Game 3. The Spurs are now -550 to win the series after closing around -2000 pre-series.
Dogs Are Barking
This first round was expected to be pretty straightforward, with the real drama coming later. That hasn’t been the case.
Four series are now tied 1-1 after Tuesday’s upsets by the 76ers and Blazers. Orlando is up 1-0 on Detroit, while the Lakers stormed out to a 2-0 lead over Houston.
The Philly game was something. After getting blown out in Game 1, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe went nuclear in Game 2, combining for 59 points and hitting 11 of 22 from three. The 76ers also got strong minutes from Andre Drummond (10 points, eight rebounds, +12).
If Philadelphia can push this to a Game 6, could we see Joel Embiid return? That would come roughly three weeks after his appendectomy.
Similar questions now apply in Los Angeles. With the Lakers guaranteeing at least a Game 6, there will be increasing buzz about the returns of Austin Reaves and Luka Dončić. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Tuesday that Reaves is closer than Dončić, but we’ll see how that develops over the next few days.
