WNBA Picks
After an off day on Monday, we are back with a trifecta of games in the W Tuesday night. I’m very pleased with where the projections are so far in this young season, and we’ll definitely look to keep the momentum rolling. Historically, the early part of the season has been the hardest for the numbers, which makes sense, as there’s less data to go off of. But we’re off to a great start this year, so I’m encouraged about where this season may take our bankrolls. TSI has projections for every game, so let’s get to where the value lies on Tuesday.
Dallas Wings (+2) vs Atlanta Dream, O/U 181.5
I think some people may be surprised that Dallas is an underdog at home in this game after taking down Caitlin Clark and the Fever on Saturday, and I expect most people will be on the Wings in this contest. TSI projects Atlanta -2 with a total of 185.5, so very much in line with the market on the side, and indicating this could go over an already high total. These are definitely two teams I’m very comfortable playing and Over with, and that’s the bet here.
Bet: Over 181.5 (Play to 183)
Phoenix Mercury (-4) vs Minnesota Lynx, O/U 170.5
Minnesota lost by 1 on a late Angel Reese block against the Dream over the weekend, and even though Napheesa Collier remains out for Minnesota, I really like what we saw from this team. Phoenix has played two games and destroyed the Aces before getting smoked by the Valkyries, so the jury remains out on them. TSI projects Mercury -1 with a total of 170.5, so I’m going to back the Lynx here against the inconsistent Mercury.
Bet: Lynx +4 (Play to +3)
Portland Fire (+12) vs New York Liberty, O/U 173.5
The Liberty came out guns blazing in their opener against Connecticut before being pushed to OT by the Mystics over the weekend. They’re still without Sabrina Ionescu and Satou Sabally, which obviously makes a difference in terms of consistency of play. Portland is 0-1 and their season win total is just 9.5, so no one expects much of them, and I expect heavy volume of bets on the Liberty here, for what that’s worth. TSI projects Liberty -14 with a total of 173, so I’m going to pass on this game as I don’t see enough value at the current lines.
