WNBA Picks
We split our bets on Tuesday, with the Mystics and Aces keeping the game under the total but the Sparks and Mercury barely blowing the under in their game. Tonight, we’ve got another three games on the slate featuring the Dallas Wings hosting the Toronto Tempo, the Golden State Valkyries hosting the Chicago Sky, and the Portland Fire hosting the Minnesota Lynx. Here are the TSI projections for Wednesday night.
Dallas Wings (-9.5) vs Toronto Tempo, O/U 185.5
Dallas is on a three-game losing streak, allowing 98 points per game over the span and playing 12.5 points worse than their season average. Toronto is likewise struggling, playing 4.5 points below their season average over the last three and allowing 102 points per game in their last eight games. TSI projects Dallas -5.5 with a total of 185.5. However, it should be noted that Toronto is on their fifth road game in 11 days. Frankly, I don’t want anything to do with either of these teams from a spread perspective, so I’m going to pass.
Golden State Valkyries (-9.5) vs Chicago Sky, O/U 167.5
Golden State is playing 3.5 points better than their season average over the last three games and have won four straight after losing back-to-back games previously. They’re averaging 91 points per game over their last five, up from just 82 on the season. Chicago, meanwhile, is playing 1.5 points worse than their average over the last three, but have been without Skylar Diggins and Sydney Taylor for multiple games now. TSI projects Golden State -12 with a total of 168.5, and I like the Valkyries to cover here at home. Chicago has been seven points worse on the road, and the Valkyries have been playing some of their best ball of the season.
Bet: Valkyries -9.5 (Play to -10)
Portland Fire (+13) vs Minnesota Lynx, O/U 186.5
Portland has won back-to-back games and is playing 7.5 points better than its season average over the last three, averaging 99 points per game in that span. Minnesota has been three points below its season average over the last three but is averaging 94 points per game in that span. TSI projects Minnesota -11.5 with a total of 185, so there’s not a ton of value here. I’d lean Portland, given how well they’re playing lately and the fact Minnesota has played some clunkers on the road against bad teams (Seattle and Connecticut come to mind).
