Iowa Corn 350
Following a much needed week off, the NASCAR Cup Series drivers are back on the track this week in Newton, IA for the Iowa Corn 350. The NASCAR In-Season Challenge is over and Todd Gilliland picked up the $1 million prize. Now it’s back to focusing on the standings and the playoff chase with just four races left in the regular season. We have stops in Iowa, Virginia, New Hampshire, and Florida left before the playoffs get underway on September 6 in South Carolina.

2026 NASCAR Cup Series Winners and Standings
For the second time this season, Corey Heim took the checkered flag. He won on the new Coronado Street Course and then won the Brickyard 400 with the fastest lap and also the most laps led. As a part-time driver, he is not eligible for the Cup Series Chase, so even though he picked up his second victory, it had no real bearing on the standings.
The race winners are Tyler Reddick (5), Denny Hamlin (4), Chase Elliott (2), Shane van Gisbergen (2), Ryan Blaney (2), Heim (2), Ty Gibbs, Daniel Suarez, Carson Hocevar, Chase Briscoe, and Joey Logano. Wins no longer automatically qualify drivers for the playoffs, as the top 16, regardless of number of victories, have a chance to win the championship.
Right now, Hamlin has a commanding 84-point lead over Reddick, who hasn’t had a top-five finish in his last six races. Blaney and Gibbs are the only other drivers with more than 750 points, as Hocevar sits a distant fifth with 638 points. Elliott, Briscoe, Kyle Larson, Chris Buescher, and Christopher Bell round out the top 10, with no race wins among the last three.
Iowa Corn 350 Winners
This is only the third Cup Series points race on this track, so we don’t have a ton of sample size to rely on. The race winners are Blaney and William Byron, who have finished in the top five in both of the Iowa Speedway races. Along with those two, Brad Keselowski, Alex Bowman, and Logano have finished in the top 10 in both races.
Byron, who is winless on the season and 12th in points, has finished first and second here and is the reigning champ. Blaney has finished first and fifth. Those two have combined to lead 371 of the 700 laps over the two races, with 81 laps led for Brisco, 80 for Larson, and 73 for Keselowski.
