Player props have become one of baseball’s most entertaining ways to bet, offering value well beyond the moneyline, run line, or game total. Each day, this column highlights the best opportunities on the board — from strikeouts and hits to total bases and pitcher outs recorded — using matchup data, recent form, and betting trends to identify edges. Keep reading for the top MLB player prop picks for August 29. Also, make sure you check out our live VSiN programming for more. Saturday Player Prop Best Bets

Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Saturday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.

Walker Buehler Over 15.5 Outs Recorded (+160) vs. Rays

Padres at Rays – 4:10 pm ET

I’m taking a chance with Buehler to finish with at least 16 outs today. The righty has been good to us lately, and he has gone Over a total of 15.5 in three consecutive starts — and five of his last seven. Tropicana Field also happens to qualify as a “pitcher friendly” park, and Buehler has recorded at least 16 outs in three of his last four outings in such environments.

Nolan McLean Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-130) vs. Astros

Astros at Mets – 4:10 pm ET

McLean is averaging 6.5 strikeouts per game this season, and that number goes up to 6.6 when he’s pitching at home. Well, I don’t see any reason McLean can’t find a way to miss some bats against the Astros today. Houston has a strikeout rate of 21.9% against righties this season, and that number is up at 25.1% over the last 10 games. This is a better matchup than it appears to be on paper.

Shane Baz Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-149 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 6+ (+139 – 0.5 units) vs. Athletics

Orioles at Athletics – 10:05 pm ET

Baz is going into a very hitter-friendly environment, and he’s facing an offense that can be quite explosive. However, the Athletics also happen to have a strikeout rate of 21.4% against righties, and it honestly feels like that number should be higher. Over the last 10 games, the A’s have a whiff percentage of 29.4% against righties. They can be a bit wild, so Baz should be able to take advantage with his nasty stuff.

Additional Picks

Amed Rosario Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+120) vs. Red Sox (GAME 1)

Bailey Ober Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-143 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 5+ (+145 – 0.5 units) vs. White Sox

Kyle Leahy Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-143 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 5+ (+160 – 0.5 units) vs. Pirates

Nolan Arenado Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+100) vs. Giants
