2:10 PM Eastern

Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox

Twins starting pitcher Taj Bradley has had a strong start to the season with a 2.77 ERA, getting 10.2 strikeouts and 3.3 walks per nine innings, while White Sox starting pitcher Davis Martin has been even better with a 2.04 ERA and 2.30 fielding independent, allowing 0.4 home runs and 1.8 walks per nine innings with 9.6 strikeouts per nine innings. Both teams are near equals in most other categories, with the White Sox 12th in scoring with 4.5 runs per game while the Twins are 10th with 4.6 runs per game. The Twins are 25th in bullpen ERA at 4.62, while the White Sox are 26th at 4.75.

Pick: White Sox Moneyline -114

Greg’s Handicap: White Sox -135

4:10 PM Eastern

Atlanta Braves vs. Boston Red Sox

Red Sox starting pitcher Payton Tolle has been terrific in his six starts, posting a 2.45 ERA with 0.7 home runs and 2.2 walks per nine innings, but now faces a Braves lineup that leads the league in road scoring with 6.1 runs per game. Braves starting pitcher Chris Sale has a 1.89 ERA with 11 strikeouts per nine innings, but his higher 2.93 fielding independent points toward regression perhaps being on the horizon.

Pick: Braves vs. Red Sox Over 7 Runs

Greg’s Handicap: Total 7.7

6:35 PM Eastern

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles

Blue Jays starting pitcher Patrick Corbin has a 3.86 ERA this season, but he is pitching to a lot of contact with only 6.5 strikeouts per nine innings, the second-lowest mark of his career. Corbin has also posted an ERA of 5.20 or higher in four of the past five seasons. The Orioles are expected to give Chris Bassitt either the start or a bulk appearance, and he enters Thursday with a 5.51 ERA, 6.5 strikeouts, and 3.6 walks per nine innings, but is backed up by an Orioles lineup that is sixth in scoring at home with 4.8 runs per game.

Pick: Blue Jays vs. Orioles Over 8.5 Runs

Greg’s Handicap: Total 9.2

6:40 PM Eastern

Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes is coming off two uncharacteristically rough starts, allowing nine runs in 10 innings during that stretch, but he still owns a 3.00 ERA and 2.86 fielding independent with 9.8 strikeouts and 1.4 walks per nine innings. Cubs starting pitcher Colin Rea owns a 4.83 ERA with 1.3 home runs and 2.8 walks per nine innings and faces a Pirates offense that is third in scoring at home with 5.5 runs per game.

Pick: Pirates Run Line -1.5 +130

Greg’s Handicap: Pirates -1.5 +101
