Philadelphia Phillies vs. Washington Nationals

The Nationals entered Tuesday leading the league in scoring with 5.4 runs per game and will look to get to Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola, who has a 5.71 ERA with 1.8 home runs and three walks per nine innings allowed this season. Nationals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas owns a 5.47 ERA with 1.9 home runs per nine innings allowed and only 5.2 strikeouts per nine innings, while the Nationals rank 24th in bullpen ERA at 4.70.

Pick: Phillies vs. Nationals Over 9 Runs
Greg’s Handicapped Total: 9.6

4:07 PM Eastern

Baltimore Orioles vs. Los Angeles Angels

While walks have been an issue for Angels starting pitcher Jose Soriano with 4.5 walks per nine innings, he has been able to minimize damage with a 3.03 ERA, 9.6 strikeouts per nine innings, and only one home run allowed per nine innings. He faces an Orioles lineup that sees a drop in production away from home, averaging five runs per game at home compared to 4.4 runs per game on the road.

The Angels have an even larger home-and-road split offensively, ranking sixth in road scoring with 5.1 runs per game but just 24th at home with 3.9 runs per game. That should help Orioles starting pitcher Trey Gibson, who has struggled with a 5.81 ERA, allowing 1.4 home runs and 5.8 walks per nine innings.

Pick: Angels Moneyline -116 and Under 9.5 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: Angels -145 and Total 8.7

6:40 PM Eastern

Seattle Mariners vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Mariners starting pitcher Bryan Woo has pitched better than his 3.94 ERA would indicate, posting a 3.08 fielding independent with 0.8 home runs and 1.6 walks allowed per nine innings. However, that ERA jumps to 5.93 on the road, and he faces a Pirates lineup that leads the league in scoring at home with 5.4 runs per game.

Pirates starting pitcher Braxton Ashcraft owns a 3.18 ERA and 3.03 fielding independent with 0.8 home runs and 2.2 walks allowed per nine innings. He’ll face a Mariners lineup that ranks 22nd in scoring with 4.1 runs per game.

Pick: Pirates Moneyline -115
Greg’s Handicap: Pirates -140

7:07 PM Eastern

Houston Astros vs. Toronto Blue Jays

While Blue Jays starting pitcher Trey Yesavage has had some issues with walks, allowing 4.1 per nine innings, he’s kept hard contact to a minimum with a 3.76 ERA and 0.8 home runs allowed per nine innings this season.

Astros starting pitcher Mike Burrows has struggled to a 5.79 ERA with two home runs and 3.4 walks allowed per nine innings while being supported by a bullpen that ranks 23rd in ERA at 4.61.

Pick: Blue Jays Run Line -1.5 (+135)
Greg’s Handicap: Blue Jays -1.5 (+108)

7:45 PM Eastern

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. St. Louis Cardinals

The Diamondbacks are giving Mitch Bratt his first career MLB start after he posted a 2.84 ERA for Triple-A Reno, but length is a concern as he averaged only four innings per start. He faces a Cardinals lineup that ranks 12th in scoring with 4.6 runs per game.

Cardinals starting pitcher Matthew Liberatore has a 5.23 ERA with 1.9 home runs and 3.4 walks allowed per nine innings this season and faces a Diamondbacks lineup that ranks 18th in scoring with 4.3 runs per game.

Pick: Cardinals Moneyline -120 and Over 9 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: Cardinals -137 and Total 9.2

8:40 PM Eastern

Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres

Braves starting pitcher Martin Perez might be due for regression on his 2.78 ERA, as he is pitching to quite a bit of contact with 7.4 strikeouts and three walks per nine innings. His fielding independent sits at 3.70.

Padres starting pitcher JP Sears makes his first start of the 2026 season after getting hit hard at Triple-A El Paso, posting a 7.92 ERA with 1.4 home runs and four walks per nine innings. He also recorded a 5.47 ERA with 2.6 home runs allowed per nine innings in five MLB starts for the Padres last season and now faces a Braves lineup that ranks second in road scoring with more than 5.4 runs per game.

Pick: Braves vs. Padres Over 7.5 Runs
Greg’s Handicapped Total: 8.2

9:45 PM Eastern

Athletics vs. San Francisco Giants

Athletics starting pitcher Gage Jump has been stellar in his five starts since reaching the majors, posting a 2.37 ERA while allowing only 0.7 home runs per nine innings. However, he’s generating only 7.7 strikeouts per nine innings.

The Giants rank 23rd in scoring this season with 4.2 runs per game, but entered this series averaging more than 4.7 runs per game in June. Giants starting pitcher Tyler Mahle owns a 6.04 ERA with more than 1.7 home runs allowed per nine innings. The Giants bullpen ranks 17th in ERA at 4.24, while the Athletics rank 28th at 5.02.

Pick: Athletics vs. Giants Over 7.5 Runs
Greg’s Handicapped Total: 8.3
