⚽ Mexico City Takes Center Stage
I hope you all enjoyed the Fourth of July. I watched the fireworks from the top of Circa’s Legacy Club after getting an earlier start than usual because of the hot dog eating contest at Stadium Swim. Scroll down for the results.
Today’s World Cup Round of 16 features one of the tournament’s marquee matchups as England travels to Mexico City to face El Tri at the Azteca.
Today’s Round of 16 menu (Circa odds to advance):
4 p.m. ET
Brazil (-245) vs. Norway (+210)
8 p.m. ET
Mexico (+105) vs. England (-125)
Once again, Nigel Seeley and Alex Blowers attack the same match—but from different angles.
Nigel expects a defensive battle.
“Nine of Mexico’s last 12 matches have finished Under 2.5 goals, while seven of England’s last 10 have done the same. Add in the occasion, the atmosphere and what is at stake, and I expect both sides to approach this one with caution.”
👉 Nigel’s Best Bet →
Alex isn’t afraid of the setting.
“Don’t be intimidated to back England here. Quality travels, even to the Azteca.”

Saturday Postscript: Morocco rolled past Canada 3-0, cashing Nigel Seeley’s play. France advanced with an underwhelming 1-0 victory over Paraguay, spoiling Alex Blowers’ same-game parlay.

⚾ Greg’s Sunday Best Bet
Greg Peterson expects a lower-scoring game in Nationals-Pirates, with Cade Cavalli continuing to outperform his ERA and Washington’s young rotation helping keep runs at a premium.
Greg’s Best Bet
Pirates vs. Nationals Under 9.5 Runs
Greg’s projection: 8.8 runs.

🌭 The Worst Beat Of The Weekend?

One VSiN Pro subscriber sent me an irate email after the women’s Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Miki Sudo had 33 hot dogs when the clock expired, but an official recount pushed her final total to 38.75.
The betting total?
38.5.
Ouch.

Heavy favorite Joey Chestnut also stayed Under, finishing with 66 hot dogs after the total closed at 70.5.
Meanwhile, at Circa’s Stadium Swim, VSiN intern Nadia (No. 6 in the photo, fourth from the right) managed four hot dogs in five minutes. A valiant effort, but not enough to challenge the contenders.
