7:15 p.m. ET: San Diego Padres at Atlanta Braves (-145, 9)

The Braves (58-41) took last night’s series opener 3-2, hanging on as -135 home favorites.

In tonight’s rematch, the Padres (49-51) hand the ball to righty Walker Buehler (5-5, 5.36 ERA) and the Braves counter with fellow righty Reynaldo Lopez (4-2, 3.50 ERA).

This line opened with Atlanta listed as a -135 home favorite and San Diego a +115 road dog.

Sharps have pounced on the Braves laying modest chalk at home, pushing Atlanta up from -135 to -145.

At DraftKings, the Braves are receiving 86% of moneyline bets and 93% of moneyline dollars. At Circa, Atlanta is taking in 73% of moneyline bets and over 95% of moneyline dollars. Both books are showing a one-way “low bets, higher dollars” sharp split in favor of the home chalk, especially the wiseguys in the desert.

Home favorites with a winning record priced -150 or less who missed the playoffs the previous season and are receiving line movement in their favor, like the Braves here, are 56-36 (61%) with a 7% ROI this season.

Atlanta has the better bats, hitting .250 with 492 runs scored compared to San Diego hitting .228 with 407 runs scored. The Braves are hitting .256 against righties (5th best in MLB) while the Padres are hitting .225 (dead last).

Lopez is 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA at home compared to 1-2 with a 4.21 ERA on the road.

Meanwhile, Buehler has posted a 16.36 ERA in three July starts, allowing 20 earned runs in 11 innings pitched. He has a 6.50 ERA on the road compared to 4.58 at home.

The Braves are 30-19 at home and 42-27 in night games. Conversely, the Padres are 22-27 on the road and 27-35 in night games.

8:40 p.m. ET: Washington Nationals (-115, 13) at Colorado Rockies

The Nationals won last night’s series opener 7-3, taking care of business as -130 road favorites.

In tonight’s rematch, the Nationals send out righty Miles Mikolas (3-7, 5.53 ERA) and the Rockies (40-62) turn to fellow righty Michael Lorenzen (3-9, 6.22 ERA).

This line opened with Colorado listed as a -115 home favorite and Washington a -105 road dog.

Sharps have gotten down on the Nationals, flipping Washington from a -105 road dog to a -115 road favorite. In other words, we are seeing wiseguy “dog to favorite” line movement in favor of the Nats.

At DraftKings, the Nationals are taking in 74% of moneyline bets and 81% of moneyline dollars. At Circa, Washington is receiving 75% of moneyline bets and 93% of moneyline dollars. Both books are showing a “low bets, higher dollars” sharp split in favor of the road team.

When the line moves in their favor against a below .500 team, as is the case here, the Nationals are 15-10 (60%) with a 17% ROI this season.

Washington has the more productive offense, scoring 552 runs compared to 487 for Colorado.

Mikolas has pitched slightly better on the road (5.12 ERA) than at home (5.92 ERA). Meanwhile, Lorenzen has posted a 7.78 ERA at home compared to 5.04 on the road.

The Nationals are 30-19 on the road, the 3rd best road record in MLB. On the other hand, the Rockies are 23-28 at home, the 6th worst home record in MLB.

9:40 p.m. ET: Cincinnati Reds at Seattle Mariners (-120, 7.5)

The Mariners (51-50) dominated last night’s Interleague series opener 8-0, cruising as -150 home favorites.

In tonight’s rematch, the Reds (45-54) trot out righty Chase Burns (11-1, 2.54 ERA) and the Mariners rebuttal with fellow righty Luis Castillo (3-8, 4.93 ERA).

This line opened with Seattle listed as a -115 home favorite and Cincinnati a -105 road dog.

The public is split down the middle and can’t decide who to take.

However, despite the 50/50 moneyline ticket split at DraftKings, we’ve seen the Mariners creep up from -115 to -120.

In a vacuum, a line shouldn’t move at all if the bets are even because, theoretically, the oddsmakers have balanced action and no need to adjust the price one way or the other. So, based on the line move we can infer that the sharper, more respected wagers have sided with the home team.

At Circa, the Mariners are only receiving 17% of moneyline bets but a hefty 98% of moneyline dollars, a massive “low bets, higher dollars” sharp contrarian split in their favor from the Vegas pros.

Interleague home favorites off a win priced -130 or less receiving line movement in their favor, like the Mariners here, are 45-19 (70%) with a 29% ROI since 2025.

Seattle offers correlative betting value as a favorite in a low total game (7.5), with the fewer amount of expected runs scored more likely to come from the “better” team who is expected to win.

The Mariners have the better bullpen as well, sporting an ERA of 3.53 (4th best in MLB) compared to 4.80 for the Reds (25th).

The Mariners are 30-21 at home, the 7th best home team in MLB. The Reds are 23-26 on the road.
