NBA Best Bets Today – March 15th

Boston Celtics at Brooklyn Nets – 6:00 pm ET

This isn’t the greatest NBA slate in the world, so I’m reaching a little to find a side to play. However, I’ll never complain much about fading Boston as a double-digit favorite. This season, the Celtics are just 13-21 against the spread as favorites of 10 or more points. They’re also just 1-12 ATS after allowing 100 or fewer points in their previous game, so they don’t exactly respond well to their strongest performances. On top of that, this is the second night of a back-to-back for Boston, which is a situation that can trip up anybody. If all of that isn’t enough, the Celtics are also just 4-8 ATS when facing teams with winning percentages of 25% to 40% this year.

As far as the Nets go, the team has struggled to find the consistency it had a couple of weeks ago. However, they’re still 18-11 ATS when facing teams with winning records this year. And while it does hurt that Cam Thomas and Nic Claxton are out for Brooklyn, the team has plenty of other guys that can step up and contribute. And I wouldn’t be surprised if several Boston starters opt to sit this one out.

Bet: Nets +11 (-113 – 1.5 units)

NBA Player Props Today – March 15th

Miami Heat at Memphis Grizzlies – 8:00 pm ET

I tried laddering Andrew Wiggins’ assist prop last night, and the results were a little frustrating. While the biggest play on Wiggins to go Over 2.5 assists hit, it did so in the first half. So, the Miami wing had the entire second half to rack up one or two more assists and win us a lot, but it just wasn’t meant to be. However, it was another game in which Wiggins had seven potential assists. And over the last 10 games, Wiggins is still averaging 8.0 potential assists per game, along with 5.3 adjusted assists per game. That said, I don’t think anything has changed from last night to this night. Sure, Wiggins could be a little fatigued after a tough loss to the Celtics, but he’s setting his teammates up for good looks and it’s only a matter of time before they break through for him. Well, why can’t it happen tonight? The Grizzlies have been a bottom-10 defense in the league over the last 15 games, they still play at a lightning-fast pace and they just got lit up by a Donovan Mitchell-less Cavs team last night. This is a very strong matchup for opposing players.

As long as Wiggins keeps making the right plays, he’ll eventually be rewarded.

Bet: Wiggins Alt Assists Over 3.5 Assists (+145) & Wiggins Alt Assists Over 4.5 (+340 – 0.5 units)

Chicago Bulls at Houston Rockets – 8:00 pm ET

This will be another night without Josh Giddey and Lonzo Ball for the Bulls, who also happen to have Ayo Dosunmu out for the remainder of the season. That said, there’s some opportunity to go around for Chicago, which means this could be another good game for Tre Jones. Last game, Jones had 18 points, six assists and six rebounds with his increase in minutes and on-ball reps. And since the start of March, Jones is averaging 13.5 points, 6.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game in 32.3 minutes per game. I know the Rockets have the ability to lock in and defend, but I still believe this is a low total for a player that will be getting significant playing time. After all, Jones just had a game in which he had 20 points, five rebounds and four assists against Orlando. That’s another top-five defensive team.

Bet: Jones Over 23.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-110)

Additional Plays

This is where I’ll include any late added plays, teasers/parlays or in-season futures. Come back before tip if you don’t want to miss anything. It’s always possible I’ll add something to my card.

PARLAY: Pacers Alt +12.5 vs. Bucks & Warriors ML vs. Knicks (-112 – 2 units)
