🏀 NBA Playoffs: One survives, one advances
Two elimination games Friday night — one team lived, one moved on.

The Pistons (+3.5) stayed alive, rolling Cleveland 115-94 to force a Game 7 back in Detroit on Sunday.

The Spurs (-5.5) routed the Timberwolves 139-109 to punch their ticket to the Western Conference finals against Oklahoma City.

🧠 Zach Cohen’s NBA Report
Pistons Force Game 7

The Cavaliers looked ready to advance. After falling behind 0-2, Cleveland won three straight to take a 3-2 lead heading into a home Game 6 — and hadn’t lost at home all postseason.

But nothing has been straightforward with this team.

Detroit flipped the script Friday night, rolling to a 115-94 win to force a Game 7 back in the Motor City.

DraftKings has the Pistons as 4.5-point favorites for Sunday’s decider, and the home team has to feel good about where things stand. Jalen Duren finally broke through with 15 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks, taking some pressure off Cade Cunningham.

Cleveland, meanwhile, has questions. James Harden’s Game 7 struggles are well documented, and Donovan Mitchell hasn’t exactly been immune to postseason criticism himself. What will that backcourt look like with the season on the line?

Spurs Down Timberwolves

The Timberwolves looked like they were going to give the Spurs a series, as Minnesota stole Game 1 against a younger opponent that lacked experience. However, from there, the Spurs largely dominated the Timberwolves, with the one loss they suffered after Game 1 coming in a game in which Victor Wembanyama was ejected in the second quarter.

In Friday night’s Game 6, San Antonio beat the belief out of Minnesota in a 139-109 road thrashing. The Spurs easily covered as 5.5-point favorites, leaving the Timberwolves with many questions heading into the offseason.

Now, we’re all set up for a battle between San Antonio and Oklahoma City in the West finals. The Spurs went 4-1 against the defending champions during the regular season, but the Thunder are -260 to advance at DraftKing Sportsbook.

⛳ PGA Championship: Moving Day
Through two rounds, Aronimink has tested players — but not everyone is impressed.

Matt Youmans’ take:

Aronimink is simply a boring golf course with few trees that come into play and fewer water hazards. The most challenging aspect for the players has been dealing with the big, contoured greens that run fast with tricky pin positions. This does not feel like a major.

That said, Matt has two more bets he has placed for the crowded leaderboard. .

⚾ MLB: Rivalry Weekend
Greg Peterson is targeting Royals-Cardinals.

The handicap: Kansas City’s pitching and bullpen have struggled, and the offense has been one of the worst road units in baseball. St. Louis brings the steadier arm and better form into the matchup.
