College Football Week 12 Predictions from the T Shoe Index:

It’s now mid-November, but I could’ve sworn yesterday was Week 0. When you’re in the (betting) trenches and locked in on the season, the time seems to fly by at light speed. Week 11 provided some excellent entertainment value and a really good betting week, which makes two weeks in a row we can say that. Let’s look to keep the momentum rolling, as I’ve already put in several bets and have highlighted a couple I really like as Week 12 college football best bets at these current Monday morning lines.

Tennessee (+9.5; 48) vs. Georgia

Georgia again looked not only mortal but severely flawed and out-talented on the field in Oxford last weekend as Ole Miss took it to the ‘Dawgs for four quarters, seemingly getting anything they wanted offensively. Carson Beck, a preseason Heisman favorite, has been pretty much Kyle McCord-level all-or-none the last couple of weeks. Georgia is in serious danger of missing the playoff. They must take on a vaunted Tennessee defense – #9 in TSI – in a likely must-win situation to keep their playoff hopes alive. TSI does project Georgia to win by 5, but the current line of +9.5 is way too many points for them to be laying, so I’m scooping this up before it likely closes closer to a touchdown.

Week 12 College Football Best Bet: Tennessee +9.5 (Play to +7.5)

Nebraska (+8.5; 50) vs. USC

USC has announced it is making a quarterback change, moving on from Miller Moss and deciding to go with Jayden Maiava. While it seems like Moss might be headed to Michigan via the transfer portal (unconfirmed). I found this a bit surprising, as I thought Moss had been fine this season. Nonetheless, they’re breaking in a new starter and taking on a tenacious Nebraska defense that gave the Ohio State offense fits a few weeks ago. TSI projected USC -8.5 before the QB news, so one would assume there’s likely a standard 3-4 point dropoff from starter to backup here. As much as anything, this is just a good spot for Nebraska, who lost its last game to UCLA before having a bye in Week 11 and now takes on a #2 quarterback. Nebraska is a team I love to bet on as a dog because Matt Rhule does a great job coaching with that underdog mentality. I’m taking the points with the Huskers.

Week 12 College Football Best Bet: Nebraska +9 (play to +8.5)
