Wednesday Best Bet Results

Wednesday was a great day away from the Tuley’s Takes home office on vacation in Hawaii, though we only split our MLB Best Bets here in our daily picks column.
I took the family on a catamaran “tour” a couple of hundred yards out from the beach on Waikiki for an afternoon of snorkeling, kayaking and a waterslide off the side of the boat. We also saw some dolphins.
By the time we returned over the hills (Ko’olau Mountain range) and through the woods to grandma’s house, I had won my top play of the day on the Brewers First 5 -110 vs. the Astros as they led 2-0 through the first 5 on the way to a 4-0 victory for those who bet my play that way, while losing on the Blue Jays First 5 +165 as they trailed 5-1 on the way to a 7-3 loss.
We’re still 32-22-7 (59.3%) in May for a net profit of $1,188.73 based on $100 flat bets, according to the VSiN Pro Picks page
Let’s look for more Best Bets on Thursday. I’ll pass on the underdog Stars looking to avoid the sweep in the NHL playoffs (just like the Hurricanes failing in that zig-zag spot last night), but I’m zig-zagging myself in the NBA after cashing with the Celtics two nights ago).

NBA Thursday Best Bet

Heat +8.5 at Celtics: Here we go again. We’ve been making bank on this series (it helps pay for Hawaii vacation LOL) as we felt the Celtics were favored by far too many points and were thrilled when the Heat pulled back-to-back outright upsets in Games 1 and 2. After passing in Game 3 (we feared the Celtics would rebound in the zig-zag role), we thought the market overreacted to the Heat’s Game 3 by making them a 1.5-point home favorite in Game 4 and made the contrarian play on the Celtics. Now, even though they still trail 3-1, the whole world has seemingly flip-flopped and back on the Boston bandwagon with the line up to -8.5. I’ll gladly zig-zag back on the Heat here to at least cover the big spread even if they don’t close out the Eastern Conference Finals.

MLB Thursday Best Bet

Orioles First 5 Innings +110 at Yankees: This is a mini-anti-swagger play against the Yankees as their 5-game winning streak was snapped yesterday as the O’s pummeled them with 8 runs in the top of the 7th inning in a 9-6 victory. We’ll also take Kyle Gibson (5-3, 4.27 ERA) at plus-money vs. Clarke Schmidt (2-4, 6.00 ERA).
