MLB Best Bets and Props

Almost every team plays a day game on Sunday, making it my favorite day of the week. However, it can be a tricky day for MLB best bets and props due to getaway days and players receiving the afternoon off. So be sure to double-check lineups.

Below are three of my MLB best bets for Sunday, June 2, but price shop for the best odds available to you at the time of viewing.

Detroit Tigers vs Boston Red Sox

1:35 pm ET

Brayan Bello is in a prime position to hit the Over on his strikeout prop (4.5) on Sunday against the Tigers.

Detroit carries the 8th-worst strikeout rate in MLB versus right-handed pitchers, and posted a 12.9% swinging strike rate in the past 2 weeks with a 29.4% chase rate. This has allowed seven of the previous nine right-handed starters to hit Over 4.5 K against the Tigers.

Bello himself has surpassed 4.5 strikeouts in five of his nine starts and has 13 punchouts in his last two outings.

This line should probably be 5.5, so we will gladly lock in the 25-year-old to cash the Over.

MLB Best Bet: Brayan Bello o4.5 K (-130)

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Toronto Blue Jays

1:37 pm ET

After getting 5 ⅓  innings from Yusei Kikuchi on Saturday following a 14-inning game on Friday night, the Blue Jays will look to get some length out of Chris Bassitt to close out the weekend.

The good news is that the veteran right-hander should be well-equipped to handle a longer leash after tossing just 81 pitches in his latest start.

In addition, the Pirates are batting just .236 with a .291 on-base percentage and .290 wOBA versus right-handers in the past two weeks.

Expect Bassitt to pitch at least six frames on Sunday to cash Over 17.5 Outs.

MLB Best Bet: Chris Bassitt o17.5 Outs (-119)

New York Yankees vs San Francisco Giants

4:05 pm ET

I typically do not like to chase walk lines at 2.5, but in this case, I am willing to make an exception.

Blake Snell carries an 11.3% walk rate this season after posting an abysmal 13.3% rate in 2022. That is not going to fly against the New York Yankees, who boast a ridiculous 17% walk rate versus southpaws over the last 14 days with a mere 23.8% chase rate.

Snell is capable of hitting the Over before the third inning, making this prop well worth the juice.

That said, I would prefer to build a modest two-leg parlay in order to tame pricing. I chose “Nick Nastrini: No Win” as our dance partner on Sunday. Nastrini faces off against Freddy Peralta and the Brewers and stands very little chance of leaving the weekend with a victory on his record.

If you do not have No Win props available on your sportsbook, I suggest the Brewers F5 moneyline as an alternative.

MLB Best Bet: Blake Snell o2.5 BB + Nick Nastrini: No Win (-120)
