Andrews: Inside the betting action for NFL Week 2 games

157

Week 2 in the NFL is here and so are the Raiders and Canelo Alvarez. It’s been a big weekend in Las Vegas and we expect it to be a packed house at South Point. There will be moments when the line at the hot dog stand is longer than the line at the window. Great atmosphere in town this week.

Alright, let’s get to it, in official Nevada rotation order – and, remember, on NFL sides, we are always at -110 either way at South Point.

Miami Dolphins at Baltimore Ravens (-3.5, 44.5)

We opened 3.5 on Baltimore and there hasn’t been any movement whatsoever. Not on the total, not on the money line. There’s a lot of action though. We’re writing a lot of business, but the sharp money is sitting this one out. Just one of those games and it looks like a pretty good matchup, too.

New York Jets at Cleveland Browns (-6.5, 39.5)

We opened the Browns -6.5 and the first bet came in at  %plussign% 6.5. We went down to 6 and they laid it back pretty strong. So we are back at 6.5 and we’re seeing pretty even business now at the 6.5. Wise guys also laid -265 on the money line on Cleveland.

Washington Commanders at Detroit Lions (-1.5, 48.5)

We opened the game -2 and the first bet came in on the Lions and we went to -2.5. They took the 2.5 and they took back the 2, so now we’re at Lions -1.5. This game has had a lot of movement.

Indianapolis Colts (-3, 45) at Jacksonville Jaguars

We opened the Colts -4. They took the 4, they took the 3.5, and now we are down to 3. I see some 3’s with juice on the favorite and even still some 3.5’s out there, but we are at 3 flat (-110 each way). The public has come in on the Colts at -3.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5, 43.5) at New Orleans Saints

We opened the Bucs -3. They took the 3 strong. We’re at 2.5 and the public is coming back on the Bucs at 2.5 but nowhere near strong enough to get back to 3. The wise guys came in on the Saints on the money line as well. They took %plussign% 140 and now I’m down to -145 on Tampa Bay, plus %plussign% 125 on New Orleans.

Carolina Panthers at New York Giants (-2, 43.5)

We opened 2.5 and sharp money took the Panthers %plussign% 2.5. Even right now I’m starting to get some play plus the 2. Not real sharp money but the followers. Some decent money line play here, too. Sharp money took the %plussign% 120 on the Panthers and now I’m down to -130 on New York, %plussign% 110 on Carolina.

New England Patriots (-2.5, 40.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers

We opened this pick-’em. They bet the Patriots at pick, they laid the -1, they laid the -1.5 and laid the 2. Sharp money is waaay on the Patriots, but the public is playing the Steelers. Definitely a huge split here – sharp money on the Patriots, public on the Steelers.

Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams (-10, 46.5)

We opened 10.5. The wise guys took the 10.5 and now we’re at 10. Public is back laying the 10 but not enough to move it. Pretty solid 10’s everywhere now in the market.

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers (-9.5, 40)

We’ve been all over the place on this one. We opened the Niners -8.5. They laid the 8.5 and we went to 9. They laid the 9 and We went to 9.5, and they took the Seahawks %plussign% 9.5. We went back to 9 and one of my biggest customers laid me the 9 and I went to 10 with it and they took back the 10, so now I’m back to Niners -9.5. This is the biggest bet game of the week. Lotta action on the total, too. We opened 42.5 and they bet the Under 42.5, bet me under 42, I went to 41.5 and they bet me big this time and I went all the way to 40. The weather looks like it’s going to be terrible. I’m hoping to get some Over 40 money but nothing yet. I am the low store in the market at 40. The public is on the Seahawks.
Cincinnati Bengals (-7, 41.5) at Dallas Cowboys

We opened 7 and they laid me. I went to 7.5 and they took it back strong. Definitely sharp at %plussign% 7.5, so we are back to -7 on the Bengals in this game. The public is definitely on the Bengals.

Houston Texans at Denver Broncos (-10, 45)

We opened 10 and have not moved at all. Not a whole lotta business on this game. Very little interest at all.

Arizona Cardinals at Las Vegas Raiders (-5.5, 51.5)

We opened this game at Raiders -4.5. They laid me 4.5, they laid me 5. Now we’re at 5.5 and starting to write even business at 5.5. The sharp money definitely moved me up. I don’t see any 6’s in the market right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we got there.

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers (-10, 41.5)

This is another game that we haven’t moved, but we are actually getting quite a bit of business. Wait a minute. I take that back. We opened 10 and got bet up to 10.5 and then they took the 10.5 and we’re back to 10. The first move was on the favored Packers and then it came back the other way.

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills (-10, 47.5)

We opened the Bills -10.5. Sharp money took the dog. Now I’m back at 10 and the money is coming in strong on the Bills, but it’s the public laying the 10. I have a feeling we’ll be back at 10.5 by post time.

Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles (-2, 51)

Pretty split here. The sharp money is definitely on Philly in this game. Public is on the Vikings. We haven’t moved the number. It’s been at 2 the whole time but sharp money is on one side, public is on the other.

A big fight weekend in Las Vegas with a Raiders home game, followed by a double-header on Monday night. Oughta be a good one. Thank you and I’ll be back with you again next week. Enjoy the games.
