In today’s early morning rematch, the Cubs hand the ball to righty Marcus Stroman (9-4, 2.28 ERA) and the Cardinals (31-45) counter with lefty Matthew Liberatore (1-2, 6.12 ERA). This line opened with Chicago listed as a -135 neutral site favorite and St. Louis a +120 dog. Pros have gotten down hard on the Cubs to complete the two-game sweep, steaming Chicago up from -135 to -165. The Cubs are receiving 79% of bets and 93% of money, signaling a heavy combination of both public and sharp support. Both teams are hitting .249. Then the Angels (42-36) bounced back with a massive 25-1 blowout win yesterday, taking care of business as -150 road favorites. In this afternoon’s series finale, Los Angeles starts lefty Tyler Anderson (4-1, 5.64 ERA) and the Rockies send out fellow southpaw Austin Gomber (4-7, 7.25 ERA). This line opened with the Angels listed as a -140 road favorite and the Rockies a +125 road dog. Pros are laying the chalk with the Angels off a huge blowout win, steaming Los Angeles up from -140 to -150.
