🏈 Georgia–Alabama: The Biggest Game, the Toughest Call?

There is no doubt Georgia–Alabama is the marquee matchup on Saturday’s Week 6 menu.

Earlier in the week, there was some doubt about whether the game would be played at all. Now the question is how much Hurricane Isaias will affect the football.

The Tuscaloosa hourly forecast calls for a wet field and winds around 20 mph. Alabama remains a 1.5-point favorite (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC).

Perhaps because of the uncertainty, the game hasn’t attracted many picks from VSiN’s experts.

Leave it to Matt Youmans to step into the breach.

Matt sees an intriguing quarterback matchup: Georgia senior Gunner Stockton has completed 75.5% of his passes with 13 touchdowns and one interception, while Alabama phenom Keelon Russell has accounted for 15 touchdowns in five games.

Matt gives Stockton the edge in big-game experience, but knows Kirby Smart needs something special defensively to slow Russell. And he’s hesitant to lay such a short number with the Bulldogs.

So Matt is taking a less straightforward approach to betting this game.

Matt is 20-8-5 in his college football Best Bets column this season.
