Monday Best Bet Results

First of all, Happy Fourth of July as I hope all of you are able to spend it with family and/or friends (or alone if that makes you happy).

Monday was another winner with my personal family life but a loser in my betting life. I spent the day with my wife and kids at the San Francisco Zoo. Maybe I’m guilty of recency bias, but I might rank it as my favorite zoo. Seriously, we’ve been to a bunch of zoos in this great land of ours and never recall having a more plesaant time even though I took more than 12,000 steps, according to my Health app. The animals seemed to be closer and more active than any other zoo I recall – part of it seemed to be the proactive approach of the trainers but I think a lot of it had to do with the climate as it was in the 60s. I mean, I know we enjoyed escaping from the 100-degree heat back in Vegas and we’re sure the animals enjoyed the weather as opposed to the oppressive heat of Las Vegas or Phoenix or the higher humidity of other zoos we’ve been to.
Back at the hotel, we had a nice family dinner and had great family time as we played several competitive games of UNO Flip. I won more than my fair share with 3 wins in the 9 games.
Unfortunately, we weren’t playing for money as I didn’t fare as well as my baseball bets. I lost my supposed top play on the Angels First 5 Innings +160 as the Padres jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st innings and coast to a 4-0 lead after 5 innings and 10-3 for the game.
We also lost on the Mariners First 5 +110 at the Giants as they trailed 2-1 after 5 innings, though they did rally to win 6-5 for those who bet my play on the full-game money line.
Regardless, the 0-2 mark with the posted Best Bets dropped us to 2-5 and -2.65 units so far in July, according to the VSiN Pro Picks page, after going a woeful 23-37-10 in June for a net loss of nearly 11.4 units after winning 15.6 units in May. Yep, it’s been a roller-coaster of a spring and summer.
It’s been frustrating to give back those profits from May, and we hope followers have been backing off on our plays and enjoying their spring/summer. But as I said before, I hate when public handicappers say “I’m so cold that you should be fading my plays Hahaha” as we’re still trying to honestly find winners.
Let’s do just that on this Fourth of July.

MLB Tuesday Best Bets

Angels First 5 Innings +100 at Padres: Yes, I know the Angels let us down on Monday (but we honestly still believe we made a good bet with Jamie Barria at +160 even though it didn’t work out as he gave up 4 earned runs in 5 innings and the Angels didn’t give him any run support), but we’ll take them at even money with superstar pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (7-3, 3.02 ERA) vs. Joe Musgrove (6-2, 3.80 ERA).

Royals First 5 Innings +155 at Twins: I know it’s tough to back the Royals (and I usually pass on them no matter how high the odds as they’re still battling the A’s for the worst record in baseball),but I think they’re overpriced today with Zack Greinke (1-8, 5.15) as this is more of a play against Kent Maeda (1-5, 6.23 ERA).
